For our Opening Session, we have the dynamic duo of Marian Parsons and Shaunna West to encourage and inspire us!
Marian Parsons is the author of Miss Mustard Seed, a DIY/Home Decor Blog, a freelance writer for HGTV.com, a stylist and photographer for Cottages & Bungalows, an antiques dealer, the author of the book Inspired You (published by Thomas Nelson, November 2012) and creator of the Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint line (sold in over 300 stores world wide).
Her home, blog and paint line have been featured in Country Living, Flea Market Style, Women’s Day, Better Homes & Gardens, American Farmhouse Style, Fresh Style, Make It Over, Romantic Homes, Romantic Country, NBC and Fox News.
She currently lives near Gettysburg, PA with her family and a parade of painted furniture.
Shaunna West is the creator of the lifestyle brand & blog, Perfectly Imperfect. She is also the author of the book The $50 Home Makeover (published by Adams Media in 2014) & recently had the honor of working with Leftfield Pictures (New York) to create the pilot, Sweet House Alabama, for HGTV. Her home and blog have been featured on HGTV, The Nate Berkus Show, and in The Wall Street Journal, Country Living Magazine, Cottages & Bungalows, Redbook, Romantic Homes, and Woman’s Day.
Perfectly Imperfect has become more than a blog, and in the last several years, Shaunna has opened two retail stores and launched an online store as well. She currently lives in Troy, Alabama with her two children, Grayson and Ava.

This crazy talented couple was our opening speakers at our very first Haven in 2012!
We are so excited to have them back for our FIFTH year of Haven!
Sherry and John Petersik are the married duo who chronicled their home improvement adventures on the hit DIY blog Young House Love, which spawned a New York Times–best-selling book of the same name, as well as a second NY Times Best-selling book called Lovable Livable Home and product lines sold by Target, Home Depot, and more. They live in Richmond, Virginia, with their two young children and a feisty Chihuahua named Burger.
