The Haven Community is committed to educating and empowering all Creators in the DIY, Home Décor, and Lifestyle Industry

We have been working diligently to cultivate an open & safe space for creators from all walks of life, to have a seat at the table. Through our Advisory and Diversity Team, we at Haven have listened and will continue to learn. We have a responsibility to our Haven Mavens to lead the way in inclusion & diversity by having an honest conversation with you, our Brands, our Speakers, and Leadership Teams.

Diversity & Inclusion Statement

The Haven Conference has a history of not being reflective of the DIY, Home Decor, & Lifestyle Industry as a whole. We were not reflective of the world that we live in and that has to change. We have committed to celebrating all creators from every background and allowing new paths to be created through being an ally for all communities.

We must and will do better with our selection of Speakers, Brand Partners, and Attendees to provide a fully diverse, equitable, and inclusive experience.

We are committed to empowering every Haven Attendee. We have curated our conference to be a place where we can learn from each other and grow together. A space where everyone is welcome and valued no matter their heritage, sexuality, age, or religion.

Moving Forward 

Plan of Action

To ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion is woven into the very fabric of Haven, we have taken the following steps:

  • Created an Advisory and Diversity Team (made up of former attendees & content creators) that meet regularly to review conference culture and programming.
  • Reaching out to and working with Creators, Brands, and Speakers that align with our Mission & Diversity Statements.
  • Curated a Panel that celebrate all creators and the unique perspectives they bring to the table on Main Stage during General Session. All Attendees and Brands are encouraged to attend.
  • We reserve the right to dismiss any Attendee, without refund, who do not demonstrate the collaborative & inclusive behavior reflective of Haven’s Mission & Diversity Statements.
  • Created a Diversity Team (made up of former attendees & content creators) that meet monthly to review conference culture and programming.
  • Reaching out to and working with Creators, Brands, and Speakers that align with our Mission & Diversity Statements.
  • Curating a Panel that will have an open & honest conversation about issues in the DIY, Home Decor, & Lifestyle Industry to be held on the Main Stage during General Session. All Attendees and Brands are encouraged to attend.
  • Aligned with the founder of BlackGirl Digital to be a speaker, where she will address the Influencer Payment Structure along with pay gap issues for creators of color in today’s marketplace.
  • Revamping the Haven Mentor Program to be more inclusive and supportive to all Attendees.
  • We have reserved the right to dismiss any Attendee, without refund, who do not demonstrate the collaborative & inclusive behavior reflective of Haven’s Mission & Diversity Statements.
